As founder, CEO and President of RHG, LLC, Richard knows companies run most effectively when formal knowledge is forged and tempered with real business experience. In fact, Richard brings his clients the benefit of experience developed as CEO for over 25 years in the distribution / retail sector. He has served in numerous executive roles, including a decade as chairman and CEO of a $100- million marketing, distribution (consumer products) and third-party logistics firm. The company sold more than 300 nationally known consumer brands—over 3,000 products from multiple distribution facilities. His perspective is further broadened and deepened by his successes with IT, operations, and sales, marketing, and branding functions.
He has learned that success depends on the power of relationships, and he knows how to build and leverage those relationships on behalf of his clients. He employs his knowledge to help fledgling, early-stage, mid-market, and mature consumer-products manufacturers establish or enhance relationships with companies in existing or alternative retail channels, including distributors and retailers involved with sectors such as department, specialty, home center, big box, grocery, drug, direct-retail TV, and e-commerce. In addition to supporting the launch of new products and helping his clients develop favorable relationships that lead to increased sales, Richard Henry counsels clients on operations and IT issues that can hinder growth. The company's Retail Relationship Management practice leads manufacturers through an evaluation of distributor relationships that can offer a more profitable path to customers. Making decisions strategically and executing tactics effectively are two of Richard’s greatest strengths.
While serving a variety of client companies, Richard is active on the BEST committee for MAGNET, Inc. and the visiting committee of the Nance College of Business at Cleveland State University. Other organizations in which he participates include the Association for Corporation Growth, the Ohio Venture Association, the Turnaround Management Association, the Council of Smaller Enterprises-COSE, and the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Henry holds a BBA in accounting from Cleveland State University and lives in Westlake, Ohio.
